Sibling Love

Come here boy and let me hold you;
What a great little brother you are.
I wouldn’t trade you for another;
Even if I could wish upon all of the stars.
We could go outside and ride our bikes,
Or maybe play hide and go seek.
I could teach you how to count to twenty,
As long as you promise not to peek.
I will let you take a turn on my big swing,
But only if you hold on tight.
If you fall off, it’s not my fault-
Come on, it’ll be alright.
If you’re hungry I’ll make your favorite snack;
Then maybe we can watch cartoons.
You can play with any of my toys you want
As long as you clean up my room.
We can play out in the playhouse,
Or play ranch with your plastic cows;
I’ll even let you have one of my horses,
I have a bunch of them, anyhow.
Later I’ll read you a Dr. Seuss book;
Fox in Socks is the one I can read.
I’ll turn the pages and show you the pictures.
Would you please listen to me?
Maybe mom can read The Gruffalo;
That one always makes us laugh.
First, let’s go fill the tub with water
And have a nice, big bubbly bath.
After we get tucked in tonight
I’ll be here if you get scared.
We could sneak up to mom and dad’s room;
Just don’t be loud going up the stairs.
You’re the best little brother in the whole wide world;
And my best friend forever, you know.
I’ll always protect you and help you along;
I’ll be there wherever you go.
